MLA Format (8th edition) is a citation and formatting standard used by the Modern Language Association.  It is the style teachers will expect you to use to format your paper and cite your sources for classes such as English, Arts, and some Social Sciences.

APA Format is the citation and formatting standard of the American Psychological Association and it has been adopted by many disciplines including Science and Social Science courses.
